Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; 2 September 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. She began her career in Mexico with her starring role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as also in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she received an Ariel Award nomination. The actress soon made her mark in Hollywood by appearing in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal of Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002) and Frida (2002), which she also directed was what resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actress to be awarded the Academy Award [6]. It also earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce and acted in action-oriented film Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
